Science Europe has published today a practical guide entitled 'Improving Gender Equality in Research Organisations'. The document builds on the results of the survey conducted by Science Europe among 47 Member Organisations concerning practices on indicators and measures to avoid unconscious bias against researchers of any discipline, gender and age. The guide is structured around three crucial issues:
- How to Avoid Unconscious Bias in Peer Review Processes;
- How to Monitor Gender Equality;
- How to improve Grant Management Practises.
The document aims to enable mutual learning between research organisations in Europe. It sets out good practice examples and guides the further development of context specific approaches.
