The EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change was adopted in April 2013 and aims to increase the resilience of the EU by enhancing the preparedness and capacity of governments to respond to the impacts of climate change. The Strategy has three objectives: promoting action by Member States; ‘climate-proofing’ action at EU level; and better-informed decision-making.
In 2016, the Commission launched an evaluation of the Strategy, assessing its implementation and achievements since its adoption. The public consultation forms part of this evaluation process and, whilst all citizens and organisations are welcome to contribute to this consultation, contributions are particularly sought from professionals dealing with adaptation to climate change.
