ERA-NETs aim at coordinating the research efforts of the participating Member States, Associated States and Regions in particular research and technology fields.
National and/or Regional research funding agencies join forces to apply for co-funding from the European Commission so that joint multinational calls can be launched.
Whilst Universities cannot apply to be members of an ERA-NET, researchers can respond to calls for proposals once the particular ERA-NET has been funded.
Each ERA-NET will have a different set of national members and the University of Oxford will only be able to apply to those that have UK membership. Applications are made to the relevant Research Council or Research funder using standard national rules rather than directly to the European Commission.
Future opportunities will be published on Research Council websites from 2015 onwards.
