Most EC research is funded at 100% eligible direct costs plus 25% indirects (on applicable direct costs). The Marie Skłodowska-Curie programme is funded through unit costs based on the number of researcher months on the specific project.
In all cases an X5 costing is required by Research Services before an application can be approved.
For two-stage calls an outline costing is required at Stage 1 and an application costing at Stage 2.
X5 templates have been created for Horizon 2020 costings. European and International team X5 factsheets provide detailed guidance on how these templates should be used to create accurate costings at application and award stage: see below
It is important that the correct University exchange rate is used when costing Horizon 2020 projects.
Note that some old EC templates are still live on X5. These should be used only for amendments. All new applications and awards must use scheme templates that start H2020.
Note too that some European funding is non-standard. Please speak to the European and International team about costings for non-standard schemes.
