The range of funding opportunities within Horizon 2020 and other EC routes brings with it a range of funding regimes. EC (and Oxford) guidance for applicants identifies whether applications are funded with overheads, are part-funded or are based on flat rate allowances. In all circumstances, Research Services require an X5 costing to be produced prior to application deadlines as part of the approval process.
For most Horizon 2020 calls, X5 costing templates have been produced, based on the call funding regimes. NB: all Horizon 2020 X5 scheme templates are preceded by 'H2020' and any other EC scheme template will be for general use or for FP7 costings (only relevant to amendments and transfers-in). Amongst the Societal Challenge work programmes, two-stage calls are a feature. X5 costings are still required for both stages of these calls with an 'outline' costing at stage-1 and an 'application' costing at stage-2.
The European Team generates factsheets to provide guidance to divisional, departmental, and Faculty administrators on the production of X5 costings. These factsheets can be found below on this page, and other related factsheets can be found on the Applying for Horizon 2020 funding page or the individual Work Programme scheme pages
